Gemeinsam mit Menschen von Anoxinon, Bits und Bäume und der Free Software Foundation Europe und in Zusammenarbeit mit der c-base organisieren wir auch dieses Jahr wieder den FediDay.
Das Fediverse ist keine Plattform – es ist ein eigenes Universum. Es führt Microblogging und Longreads, Videoclips und Bilder, Podcasts und Musik und vieles mehr zusammen. Es läuft auf unterschiedlicher Software und wird von verschiedenen Communities betrieben, aber alle sind durch offene Protokolle miteinander verbunden. Was es zusammenhält, ist kein Unternehmen oder Geschäftsmodell – es ist ein gemeinsames Ideal davon, wie wir online kommunizieren und wer die Kontrolle darüber hat.
Der 3. Berliner FediDay ist ein Netzwerk-Event für Menschen im Fediversum. Mit Vorträgen, Workshops und Networking-Gelegenheiten wollen wir Wissen über das Fediverse verbreiten, kreative Lösungen fördern und den Austausch zwischen Entwickler_innen, Admins, Wissenschaft, Zivilgesellschaft und Content-Creators stärken. Mit über 70 Sessions in 3 Sälen, einem Workshopraum und mehreren gemütlichen Treffpunkten vom Spreeufer zur Dachterrasse ist der FediDay die größte Konferenz rund um alternative Soziale Netzwerke. Sie findet vom 11. – 13. September auf der Berliner c-base (https://www.c-base.org) statt.

The Fediverse is not one platform – it’s a universe of its own. It contains microblogging and longreads, videoclips and images, podcasts and music and much much more. It is running on a diversity of software, operated by different communities but all connected by open protocols. What holds it together isn’t a company or a business model — it’s a shared idea about how we communicate online and who holds the control of that.
The 3rd Berlin FediDay is a networking event for people in the Fediverse. Through talks, workshops and networking opportunities, we aim to spread knowledge about the Fediverse, promote creative solutions and strengthen dialogue between developers, admins, academia, civil society and content creators. With over 70 sessions across three halls, a workshop room and several cosy meeting spots stretching from the banks of the Spree to the roof terrace, FediDay is the largest conference dedicated to alternative social networks. It will take place from 11 to 13 September at c-base in Berlin (https://www.c-base.org).
